Dr Troy Albrecht photo

Troy Albrecht, OD

Dr. Troy Albrecht is originally from West Des Moines, before heading east for college. He received his bachelor's degree in biology from Villanova University and his Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  He performed his externship rotations in Philadelphia, Omaha and Denver, earning clinical honors in primary care, ocular disease and pediatric care.  Dr. Albrecht then returned to Iowa, joining a private practice in Marion that eventually became Insight Vision.  While practicing, Dr. Albrecht has worked with several contact lens manufacturers on early product launches and consulting, allowing Insight Vision to stay on the leading edge of eyecare.  He has also been an examiner for the National Board of Optometry.

 

Dr. Albrecht loves primary care optometry and his areas of emphasis include ocular disease, such as glaucoma and ocular surface disease, and fitting multifocal and astigmatism contacts for the hard to fit patient.  Outside of the office, he keeps busy with his wife, Geri, and 2 teenage children, attending their many events, biking, hiking and most any outdoor activity- as long as there are no snakes involved.

Doug Hand, OD

Dr. Douglas Hand graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa with a degree in biology. Next, he attended the University of Houston College of Optometry where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Hand completed externships at Ft Bragg Army Hospital in Ft Bragg, North Carolina and the University of Houston College of Optometry. One of Dr. Hand's highlights of his externships was golfing with the Army golf team.   

 

Since 1988, Dr. Hand has been practicing primary care optometry in Eastern Iowa. Dr. Hand’s areas of interest are dry eye management, bifocal contact lenses, and corneal refractive therapy (CRT). Dr. Hand is one of the leading practitioners in the Midwest for CRT contact lenses; he has fit more patients in CRT lenses than any other doctor in the state of Iowa.

Lori Digmann, OD

Dr. Lori Digmann grew up in Elkader, Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a biology major and chemistry minor. She then received her Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State University, graduating with honors. She did her externship at the Ohio State University Department of Ophthalmology. She practiced for a short time in Muscatine, then moved to Marion to be closer to family. 

Dr. Digmann has been practicing in Marion since 2000. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, but particularly enjoys working with kids and specialty contact lenses. She loves spending time with her husband and sons. She also enjoys photography and reading a good book!

Dr Alaina Blake photo

Alaina Blake, OD

Dr. Alaina Blake grew up in Tyndall, South Dakota. She attended the University of South Dakota and graduated with a biology degree. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri- St Louis College of Optometry. She completed externship rotations at the Kansas City VA Hospital, a private practice in Des Moines, a vision therapy practice in La Jolla, CA, and her optometry school in St Louis.

 

Dr. Blake has been seeing patients at Insight Vision since she graduated optometry school in 2014. She enjoys working with children and performing pediatric eye exams. Dr. Blake spends her spare time with her husband, children, and dog.

Dr Laura Purdue photo

Laura Purdue, OD

Dr. Laura Purdue grew up in Jamestown, North Dakota. She graduated with a degree in biology from the University of Minnesota. She then went on to attend the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. She completed externship rotations at a private practices in Encinitas, CA and Mesa, AZ. After graduation, Dr. Purdue worked in Dallas, Texas and then Orlando, Florida before moving back to the Midwest and landing in Waukee.

 

Dr. Purdue enjoys working with patients of all ages, as well as specialty contact lens fitting. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside and exploring with her husband, kids, and chocolate lab.

Where To Find Insight Vision

Our office in Marion is conveniently located on Blair’s Ferry Road, between 1st Avenue to the east and C Avenue to the west. Our office in Waukee is located on the south side of Hickman Road within the new center, the Shoppes at Williams Point.

 
We offer eye exams, emergency treatment, and a wide selection of eye wear in both locations.
